Louise led two successful volunteer work parties last month at Hilton Park pond in East Wittering. The volunteers cut back willow, re-enforced the dead hedge and generally got this amazing pond ready for winter. They saw a kingfisher, and we are hoping for evidence of water voles in the spring. The work this autumn has included getting into the pond and pulling out some of the reed mace which was fun. Fortunately we have some water loving volunteer that have helped us.
